List of Hackintosh Kalyway & Zephyroth boot flags & switches

February 13th, 2008 · 6 Comments · Hackintosh, Kalyway, Zephyroth

This is a semi-alphabetical list of boot flags (switches) I have seen associated with Hackintosh Kalyway and Zephyroth installs. To enter these switches on an install, boot from the DVD and press F8 when the boot screen appears.

cpus=1 or cpus=2

-f ??

“Graphics Mode”=”640x480x32″

-legacy forces 32-bit run mode on 64bit processors

-s single user (?)

-system=x86PC some people call it platform=x86pc

tohkernel  // an alternate to the Vanilla kernel, at least in kalyway. Stopped the kalyway reboot loop on my P5W DH Deluxe. Now I have to specify it every time to get a boot.

-v Verbose booting (i use this as a default)

-x “Safe mode” boot; minimal drivers. Try it after a boot hang.

Feel free to add other switches in comments; I’ll approve your comment and add the switch to the post.
